On the interpretation of Ricardo: a response to Professor Morishima

Terry Peach*

*(Victoria) University of Manchester

Abstract

This paper responds to Professor Morishima's defence of the interpretation of Ricardo advanced in his Ricardo's Economics (1989) and reiterated in his ‘Morishima on Ricardo: two replies’ (this journal, 1996). It is argued that key features of Morishima's interpretation are unsustainable.

Manuscript received February 24, 1997; final version received June 9, 1997.
